Sugar coma and warm fuzzies

Hello loves! Happy belated Halloween!! I hope you all indulged in a little sugar-induced bliss this weekend. I know I certainly did :). Can't wait to see pictures of what everyone dressed as this year!

First things first, I want to announce my first giveaway winner! Congratulations to Diana Mieczan of exPress-o for winning a $25 H&M gift card! I can't wait to see what fabulous fall items you will choose to add to your wardrobe! Thank you to all who participated and who became followers. Stay tuned for another fun giveaway at the end of the week!!

My weekend is definitely one that will be remembered for years to come, mainly because of the 1,000+ photos that were taken! Yes, I am not even joking. From Friday-Sunday my camera took more than 1,000 pictures. My poor little Nikon wants a break! Though the majority of the pictures were the result of a very, very fun Halloween, I also got to play the role of official photographer twice this weekend. I am super excited about how both sessions turned out, and can't wait to share the results with the participants! And don't worry, I have sneak peaks for you lovely ladies!

On Friday I ventured up to Philadelphia to meet the newest member of our family, little Stella Marie! My wonderful big cousin and his wife had their first baby on October 20th, and I am totally in love with this little girl already!! I have never seen a baby this young before, so I was completely not prepared for how tiny she would be and holding her in my arms was just the most amazing thing ever. She is perfect and I can say that her daddy is in for a load of trouble when his little girl grows up. She will be a knockout! No surprise there, considering her beautiful fashionista mommy! I had the privilege of taking their first family photos and it was so fun! They live on an incredible street in old Philly, where the roads are still cobblestone and too narrow to even drive on, which made for a lovely background for the pictures. The wind didn't really want to cooperate with us, but I think we got some nice shots anyway! I have to warn my readers now that you will likely see a lot of pictures of this little beauty in posts to come because I am just so smitten!
I adore this family, and can't wait to buy pretty little things for this pretty little lady!
Don't you just love her little bow??
My new love of life!! She is such a precious peanut.
The weather on Saturday was exactly what I had hoped for since I was taking engagement photos for my dear friends Chrissy and Aaron who will be getting married next October! To keep with the fall theme of their coming nuptials, we wanted to capture a few shots of the happy couple while we were still having this amazing fall weather. Well, a few shots turned into 550! What can I say, the camera loved them!
For a girl who doesn't like leaves, she sure looks good in them!
That night, my friend Sam from NY and I got all dressed up and ventured into Georgetown for an evening out on the town. Unfortunately, we spent so much time perfecting our costumes that we got into the city a little too late and every good place to go had already stopped letting people in. But we had fun seeing all the crazy costumes and just walking around the city anyways. Plus, once we got home we started a mini photo shoot with my darling cousin. And when I say "mini" I actually mean 600+ photos! We were just having way too much together :)
Can you guess who I am??? The best part was I found this dress at the very last minute, on sale for only $30!! And I will totally wear it again! Dress: TJ Max; Shoes: BCBG Paris, Gloves and Tiara: Party City; Pearls and earrings: Borrowed.
Trying to recreate the classic shot
Like I said, we had a lot of fun!
Ok dolls, enough about me. I want to hear all about your Halloween adventures! Did you dress up? Did you enjoy a night on the town, or a quiet evening in? What were your favorite costumes that you saw this year? I think mine had to be the two-year-old fox that showed up at our door early last night. Precious!!

Bisous!

Hello Lovah!!

Hello lovelies! I hope that wherever you are, you had as beautiful a weekend as we had and that you took advantage of the perfect almost autumn weather! As I mentioned earlier, I went to visit my little brother, who also happens to be my best friend, this weekend with some friends and we had a fantastic time! I wish I could have stayed longer, but alas I have to be a grown up and can't live the college life anymore! My parents actually came down on Saturday as well to see him pitch (he is a division 1 baseball pitcher) so we had a nice little family day yesterday. The day was picture perfect for a baseball game and we all enjoyed watching him pitch the best game we have seen him throw in a long time. It was so nice for all of us to be together, too, since that doesn't happen very often anymore. Doesn't hurt that his team is very good looking as well :). Perfect weather, baseball AND cute boys= my heaven! It was a little too hot to wear the outfit I had planned, but I made due with capris, a tank and flats that I hadn't really thought I would need. For once my obsessive over-packing paid off! We capped off the lovely day with a healthy dosage of chick-flick by indulging in Letters to Juliet-- a movie I have been dying to see, especially since Sophie is a fact-checker aspiring to be a writer. Now if only I could have a romantic Italian adventure and fall in love with a gorgeous English boy! Hey, a girl has to dream, right?

Today my mom and I continued the weekend of driving and left bright and early this morning to head up to see our favorite pregnant lady for her baby shower! My cousin and his wife are expecting their first baby this fall and we are all SO excited. My cuz is 10 years older than me, so my brother and I always looked up to him as kids. He was "the coolest" in our minds and we loved every minute of the summers he spent with us. I can't believe he is about to become a father and we were thrilled to celebrate the beautiful mommy-to-be today. She happens to be one of my biggest style inspirations and took me on one of my most memorable shopping trips in Georgetown. She always manages to look classic and modern all at once. Even though she is almost 8 months pregnant she looked adorable today and definitely didn't skimp on fashion for comfort-- she wore heels for goodness sake!

Getting emotional as she realizes she is about to have something tiny enough to fit in that little onesie!
So what do you get for the fashionista mommy?
A coach diaper bag of course! :) This was our long standing joke since her answer to "when are you going to have kids??" was always "when I can afford a coach diaper bag!"
I am convinced that there is nothing more precious in the world than a sleeping child.
The ladies of our family with our favorite momma-to-be!! Dear baby, please come soon!!

Now you are probably wondering what in the world the title of this post has to do with baseball games and baby showers. Well, maybe if I had written about what I originally intended to write about it would make sense :). So anyways, to get back to that...

Hello, my name is Laura and I am a shoe addict! (Now is the part when all you other shoe addicts say "Hi Laura!" Oh come on, I know you are out there!) As a recent college graduate I did one of the things college grads dread doing... yes you guessed it, I moved back home to live with mom. Yes, it is only temporary and I am hoping to have my own place to decorate very, very soon (with two fantastic roommates I might add!), but for now I am the college grad bum sponging off my mom. Is it a bummer at times, absolutely. But does it allow me to indulge in my shoe addiction for a bit longer (while still saving for my own adorable digs, of course), ABSOLUTELY!! Am I thoroughly enjoying this advantage?? I think you know that answer :). Lately whenever I am not on deadline for freelancing, I have found myself wondering over to the new Bloomingdale's Outlet after work, drooling in the shoe department and thinking in my head "hello lovah!" I used to be a very good window shopper, but now all those pent-up, unfulfilled longings seem to be coming back to bite me in the butt! I think I have been watching too much Sex and the City since I seem to be justifying my many purchases by saying, well it isn't like these are $400 Manolo Blahniks! I had been itching for a chance to wear my latest babies, and I decided that the baby shower of one of the most stylish ladies I know was the perfect debut!

As much as I love the layered outfits of fall, I had to take advantage of one of the last hot, sunny weekends of the season and get another wearing out of one of my favorite dresses. Glad I did, too, since almost every woman there was in a dress.
Thank you to mom for taking pics even when you just wanted to go to bed. You're the best!

The accessories.
My current loves :)
I am kind of a sucker for bows!!
Dress: Kohls
Bag: Handbag Heaven
Ring/Bracelet: Charlotte Russe
Earrings: gift
Headband: H&M
Shoes: Badgley Mischka

Ok, now that you have seen my obsession from every angle, I want to hear all about YOUR weekends! I hope they were absolutely wonderful and that all of you beautiful ladies got to wear something this weekend that made you feel fabulous! What is the item in your wardrobe currently that you just love? Tell me about it!

Until tomorrow babes,
Bisous!

Pictures, pictures and more pictures!

Bonsoir babes! Sorry it has taken me so long to get around to my photo post, but I have just been so swamped between work and freelancing! I'm not complaining though, because I love what I do and feel blessed to have work right now! But, I do wish I had more time with you lovelies. I always make time to read your blogs, though, because they give me great joy. I love seeing what gives other women joy, and seeing the beautiful creations you make out of clothes. I will never understand people who can't see the art in fashion. You know what else gives me joy, is my beyond adorable "special" kitty who loves to cuddle more than any dog I know and just struggled up onto my bed to join me as I type :) She is such a sweetie!

Ok well now I am finally showing you some of my photos from NY! I took 450+ so this is truly only a small sampling of the trip. I warn you that most of the pics are very touristy, as I tend to get overly excited the first time I visit something and take the more mainstream pictures and miss the beautiful natural shot that was occuring as I took 20 of the same shot of a building. C'est la vie! But, next time I go I will have have the benefit of seeing most of these things and that way I will truly be able to capture the city. I apolgize in advance for the fact that you can't really get good views of my outfits. I am still new to all this and have so much to learn from you experienced bloggers :). I am hoping to be brave enough to do my very first real outfit post tomorrow, so stay tuned and I welcome any and all feedback! But for now, here are a few of my favorite shots from the trip.

My first photo from atop the Empire State building! I have been totally fascinated by this city for as long as I can remember and I was thrilled to finally be experiencing it myself.

I have wanted to be on top of the empire state building ever since I saw An Affair to Remember and fell in love with the tragic romantic symbolism of the building. This was really a dream fulfilled.
Finally seeing New York City!
So powerful to be in NYC on 9/11 and to really take time and remember the horrific events of the day, but know that we have prevailed as a strong and united force.
I could never life in this city, but it is phenomenally gorgeous and fantastic to visit!
FNO ad on the side of the HUGE Macy's! I definitely need to go back and visit this historic store on my next trip.
Paris BFFs in Times Square! (of course I had to be holding food-shocking!)
Red carpets everywhere! It felt like we were really shopping in style, even if it was only pretend :) Sunglasses: borrowed, shirt: H&M Paris, tank top: White House Black Market, necklace: Charlotte Russe, bracelet and ring: Personal Accents, jeans: 7 for all Mankind, shoes: Steve Madden
Finally got to see the Plaza hotel! Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed of being proposed to in NYC while it was snowing after taking a horse drawn carriage ride through Central Park. Then we would head to the Plaza and have a glass of champagne to celebrate. I know, totally silly, but a girl has to dream right!
I LOVE Central Park. It is so relaxing and peaceful compared to the noise of the city.
The Park is so old school romantic to me. I love that you can escape the craziness of the city and find a rock to relax and unwind, while doing some fabulous people watching.
Going out for FNO!! Sorry it isn't a fully body shot, but I plan on using this as an outfit post soon anyways. Blazer: Elie Tahari, dress: H&M, earrings and bracelet: borrowed from my wonderful mom.
Goofing off before going out with the self timer on my camera.

Ok I have more pics to come from our second day, but after three failed attempts at this post which has kept me up way past my bedtime I have to turn in! And don't forget to let me hear from you ladies. Where is your favorite place in NYC? If you haven't been, what are you dying to visit in the city? Have a fantastic Thursday everyone and remember to stay classy!

Bisous!
